Some mixed containers

Plantings are very nice and the third picture is one most colorful! I like the container with the heads on pedestal. Never seen one like that before. Thanks for sharing.

I keep trying to get a lot of lobelia started from seed, but they usually look a little sparse in my pots or drooping over the edge of a raised bed. I'll keep trying.

Rick I checked and this particular lobelia was labeled Sapphire. This one (actually there are three in that pot) was part of a half flat of small potted annuals that I bought a couple of hangers. That area gets lots of sun. I have Cardinalis that is native here at the lake's edge though it is not up yet here. The Hummingbirds love the Cardinal flower.

I don't think I got my "Sapphire" seeds past the seedling stage. But I'll be sure to buy more and try again.

The blue color in Lobelia always seems "more blue" to me than in any other plant. As if they have some fluorescent pigment, or some near-ultraviolet pigment that tickles a part of the eye that doesn't get much exercise!

We seem to add more containers every year. Last year Holly added some to her water features, also. I'm thinking of adding more raised beds to the veggie garden. I usually raise my potatoes in containers.
