Does anyone know this plant or if it is indeed a Salvia? Seeds recently added to my stash were labeled simply 'rare blue Salvia'. Of course I had to see what that cryptic label meant so I sowed them about a month ago. I did not expect anything so tiny or quick to bloom. The plants are 3-4 inches tall and fragile looking, which could be my fault because I forgot about them for a couple of weeks and they stayed too wet until I stumbled upon them again a few days ago. The blooms are pale blue, maybe 3/8 inches long, and hard to photograph.
I placed a Salvia pratensis blossom in the photo for size comparison.

We can try for an ID, but after the plant is much larger and with high resolution pictures. Right now, no clue.

I'm going to try for some better pictures when I have time to devote to it. I have a feeling it is somewhat of an ephemeral so I hope I get another chance.

Something popped to mind today. Salvia reflexa. We no longer grow it, but it does flower very early and bears a resemblance.

Yes, Robin thought so, too.
