Combining his passion for gardening with his love of web-based software development, Dave Whitinger today launched a new next-generation gardening website for the gardeners of the world.
Oh :::huge sigh::: thank goodness!! I can't tell you how great this makes my heart feel! I was not able to figure out cubits (for the life of me I don't know why). And everyone on DG is just not "there" anymore. I am SO glad to see this site up and running!
LarryR said it best. "A simple thank you to you and Trish does not seem nearly enough. But it is sincerely meant!"
"You may not be responsible for getting knocked down, but you're certainly responsible for getting back up."
Name: Celeste Northernmost and largest state (Zone 5a) The Vacation Land!
This is soooo nice! I feel the same way as Shelly...cubits I couldn't get the hang of and DG is not been DG since you left. So a BIG thank you from this little country girl way up in the cornor.
If I may be so bold as to ask what is probably a dumb question..........
If all the forums on cubits (which I couldn't navigate without a GPS either, BTW) have been moved here, why continue Cubits??? I am finding those whole thing very confusing.
Not a criticisim, just really wondering, since having 2 sites with basically the same forums seems rather redunant.
There's a lot of things at Cubits that are not gardening related... If every gardening related cubit moved over here to ATP, then we'd be left with all the non-gardening things over there. That's why we'd still keep it.
Anna, I have a cubit (BugLife) which wouldn't fit here and I love the freedom I have of running it in my own way. My main interest now is taking photos of the insects and bugs I find in my garden, plants are of course a part of that and were in fact the beginning of my interest as my first aim was to develop a garden full of plants.
That interest had matured to a point where I really couldn't take it any further but the benefits it has brought to me has filled the void. I now spend all my time taking photos and identifying the insects and bugs attracted to my garden, as well as helping others to find out what they have. There is an endless variety of wildlife under our noses which are worthy of investigation.
A short 2 years & 4 months later & baby just LOOK how far we've come! I say we because Dave & Trish have always made us a part of their extended family as well as involving the members in decisions concerning new features on the site. It simply staggers the mind how much growth, in so many ways, ATP has experienced since June of 2011.
Thank you Dave & Trish, from the bottom of my heart.
Ann
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
