That's encouraging! Thanks.

I would hate to kill or maim one of the few things that has really thrived in my garden. But I have a spot out back where I would see it more often, and it has really taken over the bed it's in.

It isn't easy to kill a Knockout rose.

Here in Wisconsin zone 5a where I live, I cannot believe all the people that have said they lost a lot of Knockout roses. It was just a bad, bad winter. Broke the record for days below zero. I for one will take the advise give here for winter protection. We got by many years without extra precautions but Mother Nature threw us a curve. Sad

Update since my original post:
Lost four of my eight roses:
Mr. Lincoln, Greetings, Oso Easy Cherry Pie, and a NOID that was given to me years ago.
These four made it:
Ramblin Red started growing at the base. I cut away everything else. It looks pretty good now. Just back to square one with it which is not a bad thing. Chuckles has about half of the plant growing nicely. I'll keep feeding it and see how it fills in for the future. The old, old rose (NOID) is looking great. Another NOID from years ago looks pretty good but not where it should be at this time, but definitely will make it.
Thanks to everyone for your advise and information Thumbs up
