We did not find a single one this year. We usually find at least enough for one skillet full. Not this year….
That is a "right nice" batch of them you found!

Might still get a hunt in, early birds in my area are somewhat careless. Cash crop for most, pluck and run. There's always something left to find, I strike gold once in a few years.
