Thank You Terri. Not sure any of them will make it to the naming stage though. I need to have some of them evaluated.

A little update on the older semp seedlings:
I still have this one from 2014. It has proven to be tough, rot resistant and has kept a nice form and growing habit.

Hi Lynn, are the 'Persephone' seedlings sown in 2016? Nice dark red on the upper one!... and the first offspring?
My seedlings are mostly green for now in various hues, combined with various shapes and textures. Did your seedlings all grow at the same rate? Most of mine are about 1 to 2" others are still about 0.25" in diameter. No offspring so far except for the jovibarba rollers that are already forming small colonies. Hope next year brings some colour!
When did that nice red develop on your 2014 seedling?...or did it have that colour from the beginning?

I still think I like the tufted seedling best Lynn.

Mine are really starting to color. Some very pretty things already, including some beautiful dark colored ones and red heuffs. Am getting some pretty waterlily forms in several of the Lilac Time X Jungle Shadows F2 seedlings. One is quite black too.

Hi there Michael.
Don't give up on your green seedlings, they could color up this coming spring.
The rollers are amazing in the reproduction department.

The red seedling showed some color it's first year, but really colored up it's first winter/spring season.

This is my first year for seedlings from 'Persephone'. The seedlings are from this year. I got a late start planting them, and was gone this summer so they only got one shot of Quickstart. There are about 5 or 6 of the dark colored seedlings, the majority are green, or green with tips. I'll try to get a photo of the entire planting.

I only got 5 or 6 seedlings from 'Orange Tip', and they are very tiny. Sad

@JungleShadows Kevin is it to late to give them a second shot of Quickstart?

Kevin, can you start a new thread, maybe title it "Kevin Vaughn's 2016 seedlings"?
I would love to see photos of this years seedlings, and I know others want to see them. If you have a separate thread for them we can keep track of how they are coming along. And it would be great to see them in the different seasons. Hurray!

Lynn,

I'm keeping the suspense going until the clinic..... Tim is coming Thursday to see them. Right now I think they are too young and they will look so different by spring.

You probably can sneak in one more Quick Start although I have stopped treating mine. Generally Labor Day is my last treatment so they harden off a bit.

Yes, please, some more photos of this year's seedlings would be good. What size are they at the moment?
I'll try to catch some of mine if it is not too dark when I get home from work.

Michael, I'll try to get more photos today when I get home from work. I'll also try to put a coin in the photo for size reference. I know they could have been much larger than they are if I had taken better care of them.

Lynn,

I would say your seedlings are a bit behind mine but not horribly so. A number of mine have increases, probably 60%, more in the roller and cobweb groups, where it's at nearly 100%. No surprises there though as they are so much more vigorous.

Right now it's very difficult to say much about the seedlings other than that some look interesting/ promising. I have a group of open pollinated seed from 'Michael' that is starting to show the waterlily forms and some of the seedlings from 'Sandi Lu' X self have REALLY broad leaves, so you see "indications of great things" but no clear proof. That's why I hate to get excited about things too early only to have my hopes dashed later! I hadn't used 'Aqua' as a parent previously but the seedlings from it look especially nice. Large and colorful and many with increase. All good things. I made a few more crosses with it this year after seeing how these were progressing.

Other than that it's one here and there in the bed that look interesting. One heuff seedling in a very bright red has me intrigued as do some with nice patterns of red on green.
