I agree that keeping it simple is the most important thing.

The "keyword & filter" daydream, if it turned out to be useful, should do nothing unless you go out of your way to turn it on. But it would add a button or a menu item to each forum, so it would add clutter. I was trying to think of something that would allow focusing without splitting forums - like a selective view or enhanced Search feature.

Dave has a track record of "best - ever" gardening websites - I think he knows what he's doing with or without suggestions and wish lists.

I love all of the suggestions and with an obsessive compulsive personality, I think there is always room for improvement. We all know this will be the best garden site the internet has to offer Smiling

Suzanne,

>> with an obsessive compulsive personality,

Oh, boy, you sound like my kind of gardener!

How you store and label seeds? I have a scheme with plastic jars with dessicants for categories, nesting ziplock bags for sub-categories, and 9 or 10-point double sided laser print text for labels.

One glorious tub even has an alphabetical sequence of ziplocks inside it, and my salvia varieties are grouped by species.

I was about to say that mine seems like "OCD", not "obsessive compulsive" ... but I think that's what "OC" stands for.

As soon as I learned what OCD was, I was sympathetic to the whole idea, but wanted to know: "What KIND of OCD??? I need more DETAILS!!!"

Too funny Rick Smiling There are templates that you can print off of the internet (some at DG) for seed storage packs. On the front of the pack, I write, when they should be planted. (ie. 1-2 for Jan-Feb, or 4-6 for April-June). I have a couple wooden boxes that's just the width of seed packets and I store them by when they should be planted. Floral seeds go in one box, edibles in the other. (i.e....Seeds are filed in the order they should be planted...) If I have large amount of seeds, or if the seeds are big...I sometimes store them in old medicine bottles.

That seems to work for me...but again there is always room for improvement Smiling

You are right on with OCD....O for obsession...that's the thought....and C for compulsive....which is the action you take for the thought and I think you might have a touch of it too, considering your organization efforts Smiling
