OK. so here is the retaining wall... blooms are kinda sparse since I just planted it late last fall as an after thought. It will look a lot better in the future as it fills in.

Your wall is going to be absolutely beautiful Ken. And the brown and yellow together is perfect. I love it.

Ken,

(Warning: enabling ahead)

Your retaining wall garden is only 12 inches deep. You need to expand that to 24 at least. You can easily weed that (even up to 30") and the garden will look "fuller". This is most definitely a good start. You may want to do the same on the lower side of the retaining wall as well; continuity kind of thing.

Yeah, I was already planning on widening it Blinking Not sure if the neighbor would let me plant the lower part of their wall.

Very pretty retaining wall garden. Lots of potential growth there. Also some neat prespective for photos by taking them from the lower side. "Dirty Plicatas" ?? Rolling my eyes. I think Sorbonne is simply "Richly bronzed" Sticking tongue out

It should be easy to weed from the lower end!

yes, I wish I had a neighbor that would not chop down all the increases that make it under my privacy fence. My fence is a foot on my property and still they chop down all lilies and irises. They have planted trees much to close to my fence and in time they will shade my irises. sigh......

In keeping with the name of this thread..Slowly,but surely...Did you know a copper nail (or pennies, the old ones made of "real"copper, would do the same thing) driven into a tree, will kill it, over time? Copper sulfate is a poison that trees (and other living things!) don't like very much. just in case you need to kill a tree, or stop a stump from "suckering"......just a bit of trivia!.....Arlyn p.s. you need 1 nail (or penny, driven in "edgewise" ) for every 3' of trunk diameter( 4 nails for a 12" tree)......

Where does one get copper nails, I wonder?? I've got a Eucalyptus stump that's been sprouting for 10-15 years. It laughs at Roundup...

This one was marked White Room when I bought it a couple years ago. Looks a lot like Wearing Rubies to me. What do you think?
