I found it growing along the road site. The flowers remind me of Ornamental Oregano (Oregano rotuntifolia), but the Genus 'Oregano' is not occuring in Brazil and I didn't find anything alike either in the Lamiaceae family..

Euphorbiaceae I started with before searching in the Lamiaceae family, Janet, didn't find anything there either.

That saves me looking through the long list! Hilarious!

I've checked on sites I have for other families too, but not on Kew. There is a similarity to Hops so I checked Cannabaceae on Flora do Brasil, that was an easy one and can be discounted too.

There is one photo of a plant I found on another site I have in Euphorbiaceae which showed a good likeness to the stem structure...

Sapium which isn't in Brazil, but I wonder if this isn't an endemic species?

Grrr, lost my whole post by pressing the wrong key!

Thanks Janet, yes I can see what you mean with the likeness of the stem structure of that plant with mine.
But Sapium species seem to be all shrubs, mine was a herb, quite small, about 25-30cm, it looked adult too.
Of course it can be an exotic emigrant, especially when growing along the road side..

It doesn't have to be Sapium sp. Myriam, but could still be in the same family due to the likeness. Smiling
