I've checked on sites I have for other families too, but not on Kew. There is a similarity to Hops so I checked Cannabaceae on Flora do Brasil, that was an easy one and can be discounted too.

There is one photo of a plant I found on another site I have in Euphorbiaceae which showed a good likeness to the stem structure...

Sapium which isn't in Brazil, but I wonder if this isn't an endemic species?
