I am not sure what is going on with my Trumpet Vine it is a good 30 year old and always been a prolific bloomer. Two years ago it didn't bloom, last year it put out a few but not many, waiting to see what it does this year.
I like those Asiatic Lily 'Tiger Babies' such a pretty color.

@TennesseeDave: I am so envious of some of your lilies. I also like those plants with the great big leaves. I can't grow anything like that because I don't have enough shade here. Not yet. I am planning more tall plants that will provide some spots of shade.

It is nice to come here and admire what I don't have.

@ckatNM Those plants with the big leaves are Elephant ears. I have some more out back that grow in full sun. They do well there. Particularly good in full to part sun is Thai Giant. The ones you see in the photo will reach incredible size before the year is out. They do need LOTS of water and fertilizer. You can grow them in big pots (24" or larger). Give them a go. Here is a link for you to check out. http://www.briansbotanicals.ne...

TennesseeDave, You are weeks ahead of us our Persian Palm, Portadora, Alocasias haven't shown a pip yet. Our night time temps just got to 50*F about 2 weeks ago, That's usually what tropicals want esp. caladiums.

@TennesseeDave: Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into those for planters. I've a spot that would look exceptionally good with a big planter and a plant with big leaves some day.

I've found good deals on really large pots at our local Tractor Supply, $18.99 for all the large (24" and over) pots. Since they are not predrilled they can be used as water garden containers as well.

Dave - great lilies. I don't have much luck with Asiatic lilies coming back - guess it is too warm here in the winters. A few of the LA and trumpet lilies survive a few years.

I bought two varieties of Oriental-Trumpet hybrid a couple of years ago and I think I found the right one for my area. All 8 bulbs came back, and the Belladonna has produced many good sized bulbs from the main one. Here is one in bloom.

Ha Ha Ha Ha . The poppy will be followed by a Lily and then clematis Daniel De Ronda. All seem to find their way to the window. Its at the end of the hall in my bedroom.

I was hoping someone would see the humor.

Thumbs up what a nice, cheery view from that window. I like to take windows into consideration when planting but then I always end up just throwing things in beds just willy nilly.
