Finally--I have a daylily flower!! Appropriately named "Me First." Not my favorite flower--But first!! I don't think I even have any other scapes.

@dspack Congratulations! I had my first yesterday but a squirrel (or something) bit a hole in it and bit a smaller bud off the scape..

Ticks me off!

Fame, it would have been nice to see the first one with out a chunk missing. Hopefully he decided he doesn't like to eat Daylilies and that will be the end. Bad as it is, here's a pic.

I too had my first daylily open this past week! It was my old reliable, Butterscotch Ruffles.

BR is always my first daylily to bloom. Usually it's the only one to bloom for weeks before I see any other scapes. Not sure if it was the harsh winter/ cold Spring but I'm already seeing scapes on other plants. Or, it could be because last Fall I finally started to fertilize my plants on a regular basis. Either way, I'm ecstatic!
