I was going through the multi-plant photos and was wondering if I could add a "wish list" item? I know tags were brought up before but could we possibly have tags like "Tropical", "Desert Plants", "Perennial Garden", "Edibles" etc. as headers that could be searched for?, Or is there a way to sort for this already that I am just missing?

The way it works is that people post the photo and tag the plants. To add a "what kind of photo is this?" categorization system would be an extensive reworking of the feature and I'm not ready for that right now. Smiling

When I want to remember a specific plant from a multi-plant photo I just do a fullscreen capture of it (use your PRT SCR key) and then can file it on Picasa under the name, or the area where I'd like to have it, or under Multi-Plant photos.

Not the most organized, but at least it is there Whistling

I may not be the best one to ask though...somehow plants have been the last thing in my little world to get organized Angel

Looks like we now have categories in the multi plants pictures. How and when did that happen and how did I miss it ? Hurray! Hurray!

For several months I put succulent/semps pictures in a list which I edited and added to as I remembered when a new one appeared.
The ones I collected are at: http://garden.org/thread/view_...

Is there a way to add a category to an already posted picture and can it only be done by Dave or Trish?

I see there are three pics that come up when I click on Sempervivums ... would love it if the rest of these showed up too. I'm all ears! I'm all ears!

It automatically categorizes them based on the plant tags that you input into the images. So if you tag a sempervivum in there, for example, it will automatically add it to the Sempervivum category. Same thing if you tag any other genus. Thumbs up

Is that only from going forward? I just looked at one with sempervivum tags and it does not show up.

It applies to all images from the beginning.

The one you linked to has Jovibarbas embedded and so they appear under the Jovibarba tag.

So it only comes up under one category?

I just tried changing one of my own modifying it to add a URL link and it does not come up.

How do we know which plant it will associate to?

Ok I think I found the bug that was preventing some of these from showing up. They should be appearing now.

Go to Goodies in the left hand column of the home page, click on multi-plant and then click on one of the genus names at the top. I don't think you can get to any other categories if they are not listed. Looks like only the most often tagged cat. are in the list.

And it is just under that name ... ie not Jovi .. as an example.

But @Dave could tell you more.

The only thing that would make it better is to be able to search as you can in other areas.
