I agree
I nominate Allison as our official remember-er! Rolling on the floor laughing
Yes a journal is a good thing and I'm sure this new W-7 has an app for that.

Never seen a coleus I didn't like.
Sidney/Sugarweed/Shine/Sunshine LOL,
thank you sooo much for all the wonderful information about coleus (post from 24 feb above). I haven't seen this post of yours before I stumbled upon it today (yes, I'm still getting off-path all the time in Cubits!).

I will print it out and read it more closely tonight. I love this sort of colorful information about coleus!!!! Can't have enough literature about our favourite plant.
:))))

awaiting my order. sort of scared.... i ordered rosy dawn and gebharts to ship at the same time- yesterday... and just found out i had to work on saturday... have potting mix and pots ready... now just need a 25th or 26th hour to pot them up! i hope they survive! between work, my two little boys, and my little bun in the oven, why do i do this to myself? oh lavina:( i hope the rest of your coleus do well. last year a lost only a few RDG, but mostly i think it was my fault for not potting up right away. i watered, but who knows, i might have overdone it and rotted enough roots to kill the poor babies. first time ordering gebhart's directly, so i'm excited...

i just finally repotted my seedlings from collected 2009 seed on mother's day... so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that all but 5 cuttings of my North Carolina Farms order died??

can you say addict? i can't wait until the weather is steadily warmer so i don't have to keep shuttling the trays of larger coleus plants inside and back outside. that must be a hilarious sight for the neighbors who might see me do that around 6:00am in the morning.

I couldn't tell from the pics here, but are they using the same rooter pot (Ellepot) or is it a foam plug? i'm not a fan of foam-plug rooted plants, never had much luck with them... but maybe it's just me. this year to save a mess in the ktichen while rooting larger cuttings i used peat pellets, which i usually hate, but so far so good this year...

every year is a different gardening adventure (or misadventure). perhaps that's where the addiction lies?

ok, now i'm being silly.
gotta jet and finish filing home records before 2am hits.

take care all:)

got my order yesterday... not potted up yet. they generously gave me more bonus plants than i expected, for which i am grateful. my two year old isaac helped my unpack them and held each one, saying "oooh, pretty plant baby... it's [insert colors here]". it was endearing and fun for the both of us.

this year i must be a good coleus mom. i would have listed them here, but after getting back my PC after its repair i have no idea where my old files are and am too exhausted and time-pressed to do a search. the way my pc is now configured i don't understand how to change settings. it keeps supersizing my windows so i get dizzy from scrolling. not good with morning sickness!

anyway, hats off to gebharts... so thrilled with their plants and their service!

Oh noooo, Joy - I hope you will find out of the pc-settings soon, it's so frustrating - I know. Every time I buy a new pc I'm lost for months, and since I've been working with pcs since 1982 (yess!!) you can figure out how many times I've been lost (normally I buy a new pc every 4th year). So many months of frustration during the recent 28 years!!!!

I'm happy to hear that you are still having fun with your coleus hobby. So have I. Though not all the time (LOL!), since to my horror, I lost quite a bunch of my favourite coleus this winter..... so I have to replace them. And that is not so easy to do from Sweden :))))

I hope you will post photos of your coleus for us to see, it's always great fun to see your pics.
Have a wonderful early-summer time!

oh alice,

i feel a bit better about losing pc info. i used to work with databases alot, but i find Miscrosoft windows to be like annoying squirrel... hiding nuts for the winter and then losing them. who knows where to retrieve files sometimes.

we'll have to build a coleus pipeline. i lost most of mine too. i wish i were better about sending/trading coleus, but i'm not, especially these days. i feel as if my brain cells are misfiring all the time, forgetting things, etc. i think it's from hearing "mommy, mommy" every 2 minutes from one child or another LOL. getting the simplest task accomplished is difficult and sometimes impossible. have to get to taking pics again. i didn't take many from last year, my new Sony camera is no where nearly as good as my old one... it doesn't focus well and i get alot of blurry or under/overexposed pics.

ok, i'm getting mommie'd again. talk to later!

:)
