I know trimming grapes in summer stimulates growth--but is that just more shoots or more clusters, too? I need to do it soon.

Also, I'm thinking to try a vinegar/baking soda mixture to prevent black rot from spreading. It works very well for my roses and black spot. Anyone ever tried this?

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I tried that last year for downy mildew-infected impatiens but it didn't seem to have much effect and used enough milk per gallon that I foresaw it becoming expensive for our large milk-drinking household... but the baking soda/vinegar mix works very well for every black-spotted rose I've sprayed it with. I haven't had reason to spray it on anything else yet, though.
