As a comment about Tropical Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis 'Creole Lady'), Gutzmek wrote:

After some research, I learned that the Hibiskiss series of plants are actually known exotic varieties from Dupont Nursery and Charles Black. I guess this is a joint venture between the two growers and an large scale nursery selling to box stores. Hugs and Kisses is Dupont's Creole Lady. Spin the Bottle is Cosmic Dancer, and All a Flutter is Black's Acapulco Gold. This is a great way to get newer CVs to everybody, and increase awareness.

Are you sure about this? The HibisKISS series is being touted as something brand new, but Acapulco Gold was registered in 2008 and the two Dupont cultivars you mention were registered in 2011. I'd be highly annoyed if I were to buy a "new" cultivar and then learn that I've already been growing it for years under another name.

If this is true, I'll have to merge the entries in our database because we can't have two separate entries for the same plant. Is there anyplace I can find a list of the earlier names of all the "new" HibisKISS cultivars?
