Update, This Freakazoid accepted both ploidys and the seed pods went full term. The seeds from both ploidys look great. *Scratching head*
I will grow a few seeds from each ploidy.

This is fascinating. Would someone explain about testing ploidy? I get it that this one is anomalous somehow but not quite sure from reading here what the test is, exactly.
Testing ploidy means that pollen from both tetraploids and diploids was put on the flowers and to Dancingenes suprise the daylily formed pods from both types of pollen. So, that still means he is not sure if the flower is a tetraploid or a diploid.
