Thread OP

Hello everyone, I joined all things plants last year because I man I had met was doing sales hear. He had major problems there at the end and just vanished. The last I heard from him was that he had moved Jacksonville, Fl with his sister. He went by chefmike. I sure would like to talk with him He had no control over what happened to his charts. He was hacked. If anyone here knows how to reach him. I would love to give my email address to them so it can be given to him. Thanks Peggie

Could also ask Sandy @ilovejesus99. Think Sandy helped Mike with clearing things up during that time and might also know how to reach him.
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

My goodness, after all this time, Mike's name comes up again. Lots of us helped him, but Mike just sort of disappeared. I have his email address, but I have no idea whether it is current or not. I haven't heard from him in over a year.

I think because of all the things that happened he vanished because he was so embarrassed as he had no control over a HUGE part of it. Mike was and is a wonderful guy and he had medical problems, and his partner left him, lost his job, had to move in with his sister. He was on fb for just a short time and I think so many complained on there they deleted him.

His spreadsheet was hacked and everything was gone. I have my idea that someone very close to Mike (no one on here) hacked it. He was trying to get everyone the best prices and combine shipping. He did a great job until the spreadsheet was gone then he couldn't do anything but ask everyone to tell him what they ordered and Not sure but most people (ME) order and don't keep records. It would have taken forever to go through each thread and find everyones order. I didn't order but I would have looked for mine but not much co-operation. Rumors and Rumors flew that he was selling on FB and that was not true. I am on FB. He had so many plants and bulbs and some died and many just got thrown into a storage as he had to move. It was a horrible mess.

I tried my best to make up some of what was lost and so did a few others (HUGS to them) you can look up the thread (Sorry put my Fiance David in Hospital today after ER yesterday and all day today) I am too exhausted to look for it to leave a link.

I know there is still some very deep feelings over all that happened but We did try and it was posted if someone did not ask us to help with a refund or replacing bulbs (whatever) then when the final date come no more was to be said against Mike. I love Mike and he would give his shirt to anyone who ask. Not fusing just trying to head off any negative that might be posted here.

By the way if all of that happened to me and I couldn't fix it I would apologize like he did over and over and disappear too. I would be too embarrassed to show my face. You know take the Titanic Tons of people could have helped but with all the gone info (huge hole from iceburg) there was nothing to be done unless each person would have stepped up and looked up what they ordered. Some could have been salvaged and some not. Think of the little red hen who baked the bread.

Again no negative statements need be said. I and a few others did everything we could with a disclaimer that once the date the help closed that was the end of rights to complain. (I add this because I believe the negatives are coming and trying to head them off.) Doesn't matter if you didn't tell us you wanted help by not asking you still agreed to the terms set forth.

Thanks and no I sure wish I could contact him as he was a Great friend when my Best Friend Chris was dying of Cancer. He and several others sent me plants to build a memory garden for her in my yard. I really miss him Sad

Life is not always fair, and it sure wasn't for Mike. I hope he is back on his feet and has moved on with his life.

I had contact with Mike not long ago and life has not improved very much for him. I believe he chooses to lie low for the time being. Maybe in time he will feel like getting back on here.

I too have wondered how Mike was doing ... he had so much happen in his life in a very short timeframe; job loss, health issues, loss of his home. Sad I remember he was planning to move to live with his sister in Brevard County. He was on FB for awhile and if I remember correctly he was trying to sell off his personal plant collection to try to reimburse folks who lost out in his Co-op(s) here on ATP. I sure hope he is doing well and that things are improving for him.

Oh my, yes. I do so hope he knows that those of us who know him tried to help and wish him the best. It's nice to know that at least someone has heard from him recently! I have worried about him because he vanished so completely!

Aww I am sorry to hear about this. I was going through some stuff last yearand I was not on the boards dealing with family death and health problems but I did order from him when I first joined. I really liked him.

If anyone is talking to him tell him I said Hi and wish him well and luck. We all hit bottom at some point in our life.

Thread OP

I am glad to know that Mike had such good friends here to help him out. we had become close friends, spent many times talking about each of our family problems and health problems. He is a good listener and advisor. If any of you have contact with please give him my email address. I would truly like to hear from him. We have common back problems. He had surgery on his and was coaxing me for mine. I did finally have it done Dec 10, 2013.

Thanks, Peggie_mae
