Is there a way to verify that acorns were indeed transferred after tipping a member? I usually double check that the tip went through by checking the front page tip column but I noticed this morning that only 1 of the 2 tips I sent was displayed Shrug! . Now, I am worried that something went wrong with the other tip. Sad

The way to know that a tip was sent is to click on the tip number that appears next to the acorn associated with the content you're tipping. Once you click it'll open a dialog box and show your tip.

If a member tips me an acorn(s), I always contact that member and thank him/her. Just common courtesy.

Thank you so much, Dave!!! I went back and checked the other member's post that I tipped and it does indeed show that the tip was sent Thumbs up

I am a bit confused, though (no new news here Hilarious! ). Did I do something wrong that caused this member's tip/post not to be displayed on the main page?

I really don't know. Once you give the tip it should come back and say something like "The tip has been sent!" and that's how I always know it was sent.

I believe I did get that message (I am on auto-pilot so much of the time) but then was unsure whether it was sent when it wasn't displayed in the tip column on the main page. Could it be because I tipped 2 posts back-to-back in the same thread?

Regardless, thank you for all of your help. It is most appreciated.

It could be, I'm not really sure. I'll keep an eye out for it to happen to me, though. If I see it happen, that'll help me know if there is an actual problem.

I think it did happen because you tipped back-to-back. In my experience, my name will show up on the tipping list only once, even if I give two or three tips in a row.

That must be it then. I don't care if my name shows up on the list, but I was hoping that both Lin and ZenCat would have their names listed on the front page as both were so very helpful to me. ATP really has a great membership!

Yes, this is true. On the homepage where it shows the recently tipped, it'll only show your most recent one. This is to prevent one person from taking over the list if they give ten tips in a row. Smiling

Now I know Thumbs up I am just used to seeing the tips displayed on the front page and began second-guessing myself. From now on, I will double-check the tip the way that you explained, Dave. Thank you, ZuZu and Dave, for all of the help Big Grin

If I had originally read your question more carefully in the beginning I could have very quickly brought clarity to this. Sorry for that, OldGardener, and thank you for being patient with the whole thing. And thank you, zuzu, for seeing and answering the real question. Smiling

Not a problem at all. I was able to learn a lot about the tipping process so this has been most helpful. Thumbs up
