My guess is Blazing Star (Mentzelia laevicaulis)

its growing amongst the rocks (large gravel) along the east fork of the Illinois river valley near Cave Junction ,Oregon.
its what appears to be a single stalk plant, that comes up each year. I dont know if it regrows from the previous years plant, or requires reseeding. dont know if its a common weed here or an exotic that has escaped

If interested, below is a link to a map of the native distribution of Mentzelia laevicaulis in Oregon. Cave Junction, Oregon does appear to be in its native area. Smiling
