Sorry Becky, I just now saw your question to me about whether the month long bloom was from original scape or rebloom. It is from original scape. I don't get much rebloom in my zone.

I have to agree with Farawayfarmer that Butterscotch Ruffles is an outstanding performer. I also have stats for it for this blooming season. Let me give you some background first. I have 2 clumps-1 in the front yard & 1 in the backyard. The backyard clump is older. Both clumps are several years old & for most of their time with me have been neglected. No fertilizer & little supplemental water. Despite this they have multiplied for me.

As for this year, let me start with the backyard stats. Blooming started June 2 and ended July 9. It missed 2 days of bloom during this period (that I know of-I was away & missed a couple of blooming days). It had 13 days of single blooms which were mostly at the start & end of the bloom season. The other days the clump had anywhere from 2-7 blooms. Most days it had 4+ blooms.

The front clump bloomed from June 4-July 4. It only missed 1 day in the blooming season & that was in the first week of bloom. It had only 5 days of single blooms. Again, mostly at the ends of the season. The other days it had anywhere from 2-10 blooms. It's also planted under a huge pine tree so it's stressed for water. Most plants (even other daylilies) do poorly under that tree.

Considering my neglect & your much warmer zone BR should bloom much longer for you. I never get rebloom so all my numbers are for original scapes. There aren't many blooms per scape but pretty much every full sized fan makes a scape so you get tons of blooms. Both my clumps have under 20 fans. I've finally stopped neglecting them this year so hopefully in the future they'll do even better!

Royal Frosting, a gift last fall from a friend in NH. This year it began blooming May29, finished up last week--I thought--and now my husband came in two days ago to report one of the plants has two new scapes. I think this is just great, to think we will have more blooms if the weather cooperates.
