Very nice ... you should put them in the database if you haven't already!

Arlene, I wonder if there was a seed that caught a ride from your house to my house? Nothing from you was planted next to where this plant came up at, but the tassle flower is about 10 feet away. Shrug! That is a really good possibility!

Hmm, the tassle flowers are at the farm and the Persicaria is at my house. Well, there is one at the farm, but it's in a bed near the house. No where near the garden. But who knows, I have volunteers here and there that surprise me too! I hope you can enjoy it. They like partial shade but mine get quite a bit of hot GA sunshine and only afternoon shade and they do fine.

I guess that rules out that idea! It's the only thing I could come up with, and if you hadn't posted the pictures, it would have slipped right by me. I guess it will remain a mystery as to how it made its way to my house!

It's in almost full shade, behind a hosta, and under the window AC, so I'll see what happens. I am so tempted to pull it, but I really want to see if it blooms. It just needs to survive to do that. Guess I better learn how to take care of it until then!

Thanks so much to all of you for your help! I truly appreciate it!

Um, you do know the blooms aren't much more than little bumps on a stem, right? I grow it for the foilage.

I saw that, but I like little bumps on a stem! Thrift is one of my favorites, because of that. I do think it will help to narrow down which plant it is for sure though, if I can see a bloom.
