I found that adding a tiny amount of Bhut to my previously hottest chili powder made it MUCH more interesting.

Sandy, frying them makes them a lot less hot. I'd have to guess about 1/3 of the heat with fried peppers. You lose a lot of that searing affect as well. Don't get me wrong, they are still pretty hot. A slice of reaper, primo, or even a douglah is at an obvious high level compared to bhuts. At hot pepper night we will have a basket of mixed peppers that are fried, with onions and jalapeños added. Sometimes, there will be 6 types of red peppers in the mix, and you don't know what picked until it is too late. After we have got used to reapers in the basket, quite a few times I have heard someone say, "oh, that was only a ghost pepper". I won't say that compared to a reaper, eating a bhut is like eating candy, but it is almost like that. Next spring I should have some Bhutlahs to pick, which I think will bring hotness to a whole new level.

That's why you always carry your pepper powder with you. Every day is a spicy day, no matter who is cooking when you have your little vial of hot pepper powder with you! Spent my first Thanksgiving in 57 years not at parents place. Stayed home with my wife and had a great spicy meal without the drive. She got to see the parade for the first time in 33 years.

Someone over in the Hog Wild Piggy Swap just referred to "pepper heads".

I think she didn't want her husband drying super-hot chilies in her tea-and-herb dehydrator ... and ruled out indoor chemical warfare during grinding.

Are super-hot peppers covered in the Geneva Convention?

Franklin, I think you will really like Tom's powders.

Even if, every time I hear it, I hear a Klingon sneering contemptuously about "Powders ... and liquids ... for the SICK!" Little do they know. I think those Klingons would be squealing and whining and running home with tails between their legs after getting a good dose of Tom's Scorpion Mix or Brain Strain.

My favorite word in Italian is "mangiatutto" ("Eat it all").
