Not yanking so much as "not doing the whole winter dormancy/limping along/ cutting and keeping under lights" thing. Meyer lemon I grew from seed. Pink Brug. Yucca Guatemalensis. Bigger queens Tears (have a smaller one looking great).
Plant it and they will come.

I've often wondered how well those cheap greenhouses would do to winter over some Zone 8 & 9 stuff?
Anyone have any experience with them?

If we don't have any ...
- heavy snow
- high winds
- ice storms
- cold spells below 20 deg for long periods

they might be ok. Otherwise, it may be more trouble than it's worth. Even if the sides are made of twinwall polycarbonate, I think you would need some heat source to prevent hard freeze/thaw cycles at night.

Maybe just a bit warmer here than you guys on the western shore...

I was thinking of the narrow longer Heavy Duty Gardman ones like 6' tall X 3 to 4' long and
just 18 to 24" wide. And keeping it right up against the east side of the house for the winter.
Wondering if maybe the heat from the house would help keep the plants from freezing ????

If it gets direct sun, it might, provided there is no wind where you're thinking.

However, you may find that the plastic cover doesn't hold up well if too cold and it gets hit by flying debris like twigs and stuff.

After that, I'll have to play my cricket nature sounds app on the phone Thumbs up
Plant it and they will come.

I have had a Gardman mini greenhouse for several years (3-4?) and it has held up just fine through the harshest of winters. I have not tried overwintering plants in it because it would be a pain to keep the plants in it watered; i.e., mostly I overwinter seed trays and they need natural conditions, so it's easier to leave them outside.
But, as far as durability of the cover goes, there's no problem.

A rainy day. We do really need the rain but if course it keeps me insi8de. Which is a shame sorta as it is nice and warm. Really warm for this time of year.

Sunny when I left for work at 8:30, a very quick, intense storm came thru this afternoon. Now much cooler.
Plant it and they will come.

It is really windy out there. The wind chimes on the side deck and front porch have been tinkling all night long. I can hear both from my corner bedroom. I love that sound!

Good grief was it windy yesterday! couldn't enjoy the blue skies while were playing with 'tufa, didn't want mix in my eyes or on the partly painted cabinets on the other side of the garage.

Looks like a cooler, pretty week... watch in case Tuesday's low of 35 turns to a frost warning, but so far so good

Hello all, I'm still here...looks like we 'northerners' will get a decent spray on Thursday up to 1/2". We had only gotten 0.18" the other day so everything is still pretty dry. I'm enjoying the fall weather we're having. The weekend windstorm blew off most of the honeylocust leaves. Our acer rubrum 'Red Sunset' is changing now and looks pretty. The shed got delivered last week and I'll have to post pictures when I get a chance. I was glad the weather was so dry because they drug the skids on the grass and they didn't do any damage because the soil was so hard.

Gita honey,
Hey, I'm up for a chin wag!
I brought back Corsican honey, a specialty. Now, I gotta ask: How the heck do I use this big tub of honey?
Baltic nations are known for incorporating honey in dishes.
Suggestions?
