The Rookery: One of London's Secrets (Part 1)

By NEILMUIR1
September 2, 2010

A house called the Rookery was here on this site with a spa, but when the spa declined in popularity the Rookery's formal gardens and spa were bought and turned into a public garden. It was the local people, who bought the land for £3,000, that saved this astonishing place. A three-acre garden was built, including a water garden, formal gardens, a stunning white garden, herbaceous borders, an English garden, fantastic trees, ponds, and much more. Let me take you on a walk around this tiered and secret garden.

Dear Charleen, it is a beautiful place indeed and I do hope to see you in Part 2!
Charley would love the Common with its Horse troughs and as much grass, cherries, apples, pears etc., that he could eat whilst I took you round the Garden. I know I would have to buy him a Rum & Raisin Ice Cream as a desert, and then a pint of Ale afterwards! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
But I do think he might enjoy it, and of course your goodself.
Regards.
Neil.
p.s. Tell Charley I miss him and we will fill the Horse Trough with beer if he does not want water!

Dear Charleen, he would be if I took him out for a stroll! I have seen; snakes, Ferrets, Pole cats, drunken dogs, sheep, goats, cows, Goldfish, Koi carp, cats, bird eating spiders, a monkey and a Horse in English pubs plus a lot of other things. But never a Drunken mule. That would be a first for me at least! He might like CIDER that is made from apples.
Regards.
Neil.
