I'm thinking we should have a thread for Ideas and Planning for Field Trips and Regional Events. Then we could put an Old Fashioned Christmas at JB's Farm, and a trip to Rita's vegetable patch as our first ideas. What do you all think?? :-)

I'll be having guests stay with me for the next three weeks. I'm also preparing for a large group of people getting together at my house on the 23rd.

thanks, Roses. I know it's awfully short notice for a group field trip. Sad One possibility is to plan something small for this year, and then have more time to plan something larger for next summer! Smiling What do you think? Rita, are you around and accepting visitors over the next few weekends?

I hope you guys are really kidding. I can't imagine people actually driving to see my gardens. Well, maybe in June when the roses start to bloom but right now everything looks pretty sorry!

I just cut zucchinis and cucumbers and then added some tomatoes and gave them all to my friend Vinnie that is the park gatekeeper here, I give him stuff from the garden each summer. Honestly I have been giving away the tomatoes as fast as I harvest them.

Of course I do keep some for myself.

Oh yes, I give him fresh veggies each year. I don't know what I could bribe him for as I surely am a resident and only residents allowed in the park. Lily and I usually stop and chat with him when I see him when we are going for our exercise walks. He thinks Lily is cute. He has good taste! Hilarious!

Rita, I was thinking of this as an *educational* field trip to learn about different kinds of tomatoes and different vegetable growing techniques!! Big Grin

Mine is looking kind of spent, also. I'm trying to deadhead everything in the hopes that something will bloom again.
