My noid Adenium has been growing nicely this year with its lovely blooms. For awhile I thought it will not make any blooms, but as the heat increased, and with increased watering as well, it bloomed nicely. I did change some of its soil in early Spring, added some fertilizer at that time.
The roots as seen during repot last April 2014
After soil change:
More new leaves by 19June 2014, caudex getting fatter and really rock hard
As July came with its hot and hotter temps, increased to daily watering. A new bloom cluster shows up on just one branch..all buds on that branch eventually bloomed nicely:
This August, that first branch is slowly winding down, but the other branches are now gearing up...so the bloom show continues
I got two little Adeniums too, I guess too young to make buds for now..nice to see it makes its caudex grow fatter.
It still making new leaves, still doing well. One of them got some aphids on its new leaves..got it out in time, so plant resumes growing new leaves.
I lost one other little one..wrong container, too deep for it..oh well.
Really better to use shallow but wider container. Lesson learned.
