At the moment I still have Gypsy Romance, Orinoco Flow, Acoma and Footloose. All of these are pretty fast increasers if you need to fill space! Smiling

Well the rain slowed down the Gypsy perusal. Will try to get all this sorted between raindrops. Trying to plant and divide and have a job is really a bad mix. Hee. Need a day off....

Vi, Debra, Bonnie - I am taking your boxes to the Post Office tomorrow! Will let you know when they go and postage.

English Charm is on my wish list -- not my *heavy breathing* wish list, though -- my *passive* wish list. It's a lovely Iris and I plan to have it someday.

Had to search out English Charm. So pretty...and such a pretty name.
Flips me back to the question of the naming of iris, which I first started thinking
about when I received as a bonus "Fuzzy Wuzzy Rocket". Now I would never be
interested enough to search this one out just by the name. I was so pleasantly
surprised to see that it's a beauty!

Jan, our local hybridizer brings a slide show of his new irises to be introduced and the group of us suggest names. He writes down the name suggested and the persons name who suggested it for his records and then does his research to see if that particular name is not already taken and if not he assigns that name to his new introduction. I always thought iris names were chosen to describe some feature of that iris such as spoons, horns, frills, color, etc., or even parentage. I guess some are and some aren't. And all the dwarfs that have the name tiny or bitsy or something to that effect is a little boring to me.

Well there are obviously a lot of science fiction geeks amongst the hybridizers: we have Skywalker, Dark Vadar and Millenium Falcon from Star Wars; Starship Enterprise from Star Trek; and Golden Snitch, Dumbledore, Muggles (and I suspect Grindelwald) from Harry Potter; there is Ninja Turtles (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Gizmo the Gremlin (from Gremlins), Casper's Shadow (Casper the Friendly Ghost) and I would be really surprised if there isn't one called Scooby Doo!

English Charm may have a plain name but I was surprised by it. It took two years to bloom, but then the blooms were much larger than I had expected, and they held up well to weather - along with being really pretty.

Ok @hazeleyes and @janwax:

I have one really nice rhizome of Gypsy, and one little bitty rhizome.

I know hazeleyes was interested in Orinoco Flow, Acoma and Footloose too. Since I don't have two even Gypsy's to offer I can offer one rhizome each of any of the following: Las Vegas, Isn't It Something, and Silken Trim. Let me know if you are interested in any of them. Thought it was only fair to give you two first dibs.
