Well Sherry, maybe you're on to something, we may all have holes in our head! Rolling on the floor laughing But you got a nice bunch of historics.

Two Gypsy Lords arrived yesterday. Nice fatties. Up early to plant them.

Still to come - a half dozen dwarfs and a few intermediates.

ooooh-ooooh -- I love Gypsy Lord!! Almost lost mine after it bloomed last year and seemed to produce no baby rhizomes. Thank goodness it was planted in an area with good drainage and lots of sun -- it recovered this summer (after touch-and-go this awful spring). There are two or three nice-sized rhizomes out there now that should bloom for me next spring!! Hurray! Lovey dubby

Mary Ann - my Gypsy Lord love developed slowly. I'm really kind of a ballerina, pink and orchid, chiffon peignoir, kind of iris lover. Gypsy Lord
is so in-your-face ! So bold! But my girls will love him, I think.

For any of you who happen to be wandering though Tennessee this weekend, Wild Iris Rows is having their end of season sale. All rhizomes are $1. Unfortunately none of his hybrids are included but lots of what he calls "study dependable iris" are available.

Turns out it's do-able -- only a 2-1/2 hour drive (one way). Gonna go now and try to find their website.

Well -- I don't know what to think about this. The website says that they will have this sale on "selected varieties". But I went through their website, which is divided up by color -- and I went through five colors and every single one was sold out. These were TBs that I checked. I'd hate to make that drive for a meager selection.

I did find a gorgeous red Iris on their website that I absolutely MUST get next year -- Gerry Atwell. Check it out!!! Lovey dubby
