Hi, @jmorth,
Please note the 3-pointed leaves. I'd guess from both the leaves and bark that it's a sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) though I'm no expert at the trees that may occur in your area.
Could you please take another look at your photo?

It sure looks like Sycamore (P. occidentalis) to me too and I see Jmorth has the same photo in the P. occidentalis entry: American Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis)
