I was doing my mothers garden as the jungle conditions with the weeds were unbearable. After two squadrons of Japanese soldiers were found that did not know tha war was long finished, I did get one side done.
Then (don't tell Sarah), I found this beautiful Apricot wild Digitalis (Foxglove) growing out of a Ceanothus, oh what a joy not to have to put up with a pink one!
I think it is perfect!
Regards,
Neil.

VERY IMPORTANT FROM DAVE!
I received a letter from Internet Brands today, and it was a cease and desist.

My employment agreement with NameMedia says many things, among them that I won't compete with NameMedia for a certain length of time. My doing cubits.org can easily be seen to be a competitor of Dave's Garden, but this is no problem because DG is no longer owned by NameMedia.

So, I'm not competing with NameMedia since DG is owned by someone else now. I have been very clear and public with this position. I even posted several times on DG that I do not feel like I am obligated to not compete against DG and that position was never challenged until today.

The letter from IB, however, claims that my employment agreement with NameMedia has been assigned to IB and that my agreement is with them.

Now, that's possible, but I had never been notified until today that this was the case.

They are telling me that I must shut down cubits.org by this Friday or else they will bring a lawsuit against me. They say that: "If you do not comply, we intend to pursue you for all damages you have caused, which based on our initial review of the matter appears to be well in excess of $1,000,000."

I have a call in to NameMedia as well as the general counsel at IB, to get confirmation that my employment agreement was indeed assigned over to IB. If it was in fact assigned, then there's nothing I can do and I will have to shut down cubits.org per their demands.

I think we should all prepare for the worst. I think that in the end of the day, big business is going to win and the rest of us are going to lose.

I WAS TAUGHT IN THE ARMY "WHO DARES WINS!" Of course after the immense amount of work I have put into to our cubits, it is devastating news.
But my brother has a server and will I hope allow to me and with a bit of time, a lot of work and some luck, I can and will put my own web site up and running!
I have learnt many things here at cubits the most important to me being; there are some great people out there, and hopefully I have amused you and entertained you with my pictures and a bit of English wit! I have also made a great number of friends and that is so important to me as well. You really are simply the best anyone could wish for, and that I mean with all my Heart!
There is a saying in my Regiment "SURRENDER IS NOT AN OPTION." I will try in Churchill's words "NEVER SURRENDER!"
So where do we go from here, easy for those that still would like to know me, and whilst C-mail is still running, you send me your E-Mail Address (I will reply), which I would never give out and I will send you pictures and what is going on! I never give any information out ask Cherie, for she trusts me, and so do many others!
Then when I can and I will get my own web site going, you can all get on that if you so wish!
My idea being it will be a mix of Cottage Gardens and British Gardens on one site, with anything you so wish!
I was on DG but got a lot of Anti British Backlash; strangely enough some of the people who criticized my recipes and everything else came on to cubits and wanted them, they did not get them, you did!
I will not lay down and let this bother me for; "WE SHALL FIGHT THEM ON THE LANDING GROUNDS AND ON THE BEACHES, IN THE STREETS AND THE FIELDS, FOR WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER!"
I had a dream to make good quality cubits which if you do not know British Gardens was always in the top three, and Cottage Gardens up there amongst the best, hence we were front page news!
But that is not the end with your help we can be again, "AIM FOR THE STARS, AND AT LEAST YOU WILL GET OUT OF THE GUTTER!"
WHEN I GET A NEW WEB SITE GOING IT WILL BE THE SAME AS I BELIEVE IN, FREE AND FOR EVERYONE!
Just bear with me.
Massive RESPECT to you all.
Neil.

Dear Neil, I hope you don't mind my posting this here, if you do, please delete it. If you don't, please forward it on. I recommend a boycottt of DG starting tomorrow at noon for as long as it takes, look and read but don't post. Let's see what happens when they have no active members. Spread the word. MANY OF YOU MAY REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST STARTED THESE CUBITS, FOR I DO!
WOULD ANYONE REPLY OR WERE THEY INTERESTED, I DID NOT NOT KNOW, I DO NOW! FOR YOU HAVE MADE ME TURN THINGS AROUND AND GIVEN ME A CHANCE TO DO WHAT I KNOW AND LOVE; THINGS THAT MONEY CANNOT BUY, EVER! A LOVE FOR THE BEAUTY OF LIFE, NATURE AND WHAT WE CAN DO IF WE PUT OUR MINDS TO IT.
WILL CORPORATE BODIES STOP ME, NO OF COURSE THEY WON'T FOR THEY CANNOT EVER STOP THE HUMAN SPIRIT, NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY THEY HAVE.
FOR THEY LIKE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO LEARN IS THIS: "YOU CANNOT EAT MONEY."
I HAVE MADE MANY FRIENDS ON THESE CUBITS, IN FACT TOO MANY TO THANK. BUT TO SHARON AND CHERIE FOR THEIR HARD WORK, I OWE YOU A LOT. TO THE COUNTLESS OTHERS THIS IS NOT GOODBYE BUT HELLO TO A NEW ERA! FOR I HAVE FOUND OUT ONE THING ON HERE AND THAT IS IMPORTANT; IN MY OWN BRITISH SILLY WAY IF I CAN MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY WITH A PICTURE OR OUR HUMOUR, THEN EVERY HOUR SPENT WORKING ON THIS HAS BEEN WORTH IT! BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THERE HAS BEEN SO MANY HOURS SPENT ON IT, UNTOLD TRAVELING AND MY CAMERA WOULD LIKE A REST FOR A DAY!
I NEVER GAVE UP WHEN I CAME OUT OF THE ARMY; GOT A CHELSEA GOLD, DID A JEKYLL GARDEN AND THEN WORKED FOR MY BOSS, THE QUEEN!
SO YOU THINK I AM GOING TO GIVE UP NOW, THINK AGAIN.
I ADMIRE AND HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT FOR YOU ALL, YOU HAVE MY E-MAIL nrmuir17&sky.com
FOR OUT OF AN ACORN MIGHTY OAKS DO GROW!
A LOT OF YOU WILL REMEMBER MY TREE FERN PICTURES I ANNOYED YOU WITH. NOW FROM NOTHING I HAVE THIS.
ENOUGH SAID!
I AM NOT SAYING GOODBYE, I AM SAYING USE MY E-MAIL TILL I CAN GET THINGS SORTED OUT!
REGARDS TO YOU ALL.
NEIL
