I have been desperately trying to identify this pink blend rose. Can you help me? Thank you! =)

Hi, Matt. Welcome to ATP. It's really difficult to identify a rose on the basis of a few photos, especially a pink blend. It's a popular color combination and is common to hundreds (or maybe thousands) of cultivars. I noticed that you submitted a photo of it to the database as The Wedgwood Rose. Was that based on information you acquired, or did you just take a guess?

I have done lots of research and the roses that have come closest to matching this one include:

Tiffany; Belinda's Dream; Whittle-Light-Pink; Hovyn de Tronchere; & Lady Mary Fitzwilliam.

I'm totally frazzled! haha! I bought the rose from Lowes and it didn't have a tag. I then called the nursery and the woman didn't help me at all. =( Still researching, but I definitely need help. Thank you! =)

I agree that it resembles all of these roses, but it's highly unlikely (almost impossible, in fact) that Lowe's would be carrying Hovyn de Tronchere, Lady Mary Fitzwilliam, or Whittle-Light-Pink (which is actually just another name for Lady Mary Fitzwilliam). Tiffany doesn't have as many petals as your rose, and it's a blend of several shades of pink with yellow undertones, whereas your rose appears to have some white, or at least the palest of pinks, at one stage of bloom. Belinda's Dream does have enough petals to qualify and can be quite changeable in its range of pink hues, so that's the best guess so far, but it's still only a guess.

I hate to be negative but it doesn't look like Belinda's Dream to me. Your rose is a mixture of various shades of light and dark pink.......a blend? The Belinda's Dream I've seen is more of a self....a more even shade of pink. Here in lays the problem in trying to ID a noid rose, iris, day lily, etc. It is a lovely rose Matt so grow it and enjoy it.

Actually, there are photos all over the Web, including images in our own database, that illustrate the ability of Belinda's Dream to display several shades of pink.

That honestly was my first inclination as well. The rose has the exact same shape as Belinda's Dream, but the color is especially unique: it starts off with a deep shade of pink with out petals having a creamy white color. As it ages, the pink spreads outward and fades gradually into a very light pink. :-)

As I said, Belinda's Rose is a good guess, but it's still only a guess. Luckily, we have a few ways to narrow down the search. It's either classified as a medium pink or a pink blend; it appears to have more than 40 petals, but it might fall just short of 40 and be in the 25-40 category; and it has to be a rose Lowe's woukl be likely to carry. Does it have any other distinguishing features? Does it have a climbing habit, for instance? Are the blooms ever carried in clusters? Is it fragrant? Does it rebloom during the year?

When I search for medium pink roses with 25-40 petals, I see several that might be available at Lowe's.

Changing the search criteria to "pink blend" or "more than 40 petals" would bring up a whole different list.

Unforgettable definitely looks like a possibility as well!

It's a strong possibility. It's a popular rose, and the patent has expired, so Lowe's can carry it without the bother of having to pay royalties to the hybridizer.

Matt, I had noticed its resemblance to Beverly, but that rose wasn't even being sold on this continent until a couple of Canadian nurseries started selling it a couple of years ago, so I disqualified it. When did you buy it? Was it a relatively high-priced selection at Lowe's? It's been around in Europe for more than a decade, but it's almost brand new here.

It was only $12. That's the closest match I've seen though. I'm so puzzled.

I don't know if this helps, but Kordes has been wholesaling some of their older roses to the big box stores.

What I said was that $12 sounds semi-expensive for Lowe's, but I haven't been to Lowe's for a while. If I go there next season, I'll see whether they're carrying Beverly.

Matt, where are you located? Assuming your local Lowe's would only sell roses that would withstand your geographic hardiness zone, it might help narrow the search.

Edited to say that I just noticed the metadata for your uploaded photographs is West Covina, CA. If that's the case, it may not help narrow it down. If you had been in, say, upstate New York, we might have been able to eliminate a few of the less hardy cultivars.
