If you're on a public computer. But the logout button is so infrequently used it shouldn't be placed in a prominent position, where the real estate is valuable.
As far as security goes, seems to me that with a site like this, the more frequently you log on, the more opportunities there are for some nefarious evildoer to snatch your password out of the ether. But I could be wrong.....
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
You don't need to logout of ATP unless you're afraid of someone using your actual computer to access the site on your behalf. I never logout and most people don't.
Remaining logged in is primarily an issue if the computer you are using is accessible to people you would not trust. As Dave said a public computer like at a library. A home computer would not usually be a problem if only trustworthy people had access. Cross posted with Dave.
The only sites I am careful to log out of, and close the browser window too, are sites having anything to do with financial issues. Or sites that have access to credit card data.

Those sites usually (or maybe always) automatically expire your session after a certain time. If you stay logged in to your bank over night, for example, by the morning you will find that you were automatically logged out.
I have never logged out of ATP because, unfortunately I might add, I know my dh has no interest in what goes on here . It's the only site I don't log out of.
