Here's a very late bloomer for someone who wants irises for the Fourth of July. Both stalks have six flowers or buds. One is in a bed and the other on a rocky, clay hillside. The buds are too close together for good form, but it might make a good base for a new variety.

This thread is 6 years old. I wonder if Barbara found the names to any of them.

A few years ago (maybe 4 years) we hired a few guys to help get the weeds under control. They ended up taking a lot of my unnamed irises out. I had one round circle bed that had a bunch of named irises that started with the letter "J" and the boss guy moved the tags and wiped everything out! that was the last time they were here!

I still have a lot of tag 09, that is in another bed.

Could #9 be Coral Chalice? My pictures show it more deeply colored, and also lighter, like your picture.

No, I have Coral Chalice in another part of the yard and it is much more deeply colored. Coral Chalice is one of my favorites.
