Could it be a Clerodendrum bungei?

It doesn't appear to have the noticeably serrated edges of the Clerodendrum bungei, although the photo is a bit fuzzy. Heh, looks a lot like the darn cottonwood seedlings I have coming up all over the yard, tho.

Looks like poplar suckers (vs. seedings, likely) to me.

That was my first thought too, Woofie, but it's only a wild guess on my part.

Yes, I should have said cottonwood "suckers" too.
