@Patty @gg5 Great discussion we have here on 'Beautiful'. It prompted me to add information to clarify this particular sempervivum. Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Beautiful')
Comment is towards the bottom of the page. Thumbs up

S. 'Beauty Spots' is still up in the air. It is a Belgium hybrid from Andre Smits, the few photos from Europe show it as an arachnoid type semp. The one being sold in the U.S. it completely different.

Hurray! Beautiful photos Julia. I agree with Bev, the Noid in photo 1 is lovely.
Such beautiful soft colors with watermarkings in the photos of Rita Jane and Purple Passion. Aren't we fortunate, we have wonderful color all through the growing season with these great plants. Hurray!

Thumbs up

We do get acorns for posting a comment to an entry in the database. I was so happy to find that information. I try to add extra information on a plant as a comment to the database for that particular plant.
I see some of you have done that for different plants. Keep up the great work. Hurray!

Why did I stop and look? Have been plotting a new bed for what's left of my semps that will have only morning sun.

Linda your morning sun bed sounds like a great location for semps!
@valleylynn - I only just now looked into Pacific Devil's Food as a possibility for the NOID brown semp - I think you are right - what a great guess! I bought Bronco and Pacific Devil's food from Young's at the same time - so either they or I probably messed up the labels! When @springcolor came to visit and see my semp troughs, the semps I have labelled as Pacific Devil's food was one that she said doesn't look correct, and now that you mentioned it, the incorrect one looks more like Bronco! haha I will wait and see, since in the spring Pacific Devil's food should be very red! Thank you Ms Lynn nodding good eye there detective! Rolling on the floor laughing

'Pacific Devil's Food' will always be some shade of brown, so it will be easy to recognize the difference between it and Bronco.
Good work Greg and Julia, another mystery solved. Hurray!

Size and shape is another way to identify them compared to some of the other brown semps.

Lynn I guess I was so ticked off originally when I was told that it wasn't 'Bronco' meaning a NOID, that I didn't read your post clearly, and never looked to see if it could be Pacific devil's food Shrug! For now I'm going to keep an eye on both sets of semps, and move the label over if it really colors up red in spring!! Thumbs up Thumbs up (Its a lovely semp! Totally eye catching in the bed - so it doesn't surprise me that it would be one of the pacifics! Go Gary Gossett!!) nodding Hurray!
