I am still trying to get over that they named it Xenox and have 4 different color blooms.

Which color did your tag say Lynn. This one only had Xenox on the pot.

Is there any particular meaning attached to the word 'xenox'?

Here is what I found:
Xenos
Xenos (Greek: ξένος, xénos, plural xenoi) is a word used in the Greek language from Homer onwards. The most standard definition is "stranger."

Mine just said Xenox also, but it doesn't have yellow blooms. Here is a photo of the bloom on mine

As you can see in this link there are several different forms of Xenox. http://garden.org/plants/searc...

I added my bloom pic. I maybe should have waited until they all opened but who knows if it will even be there tomorrow. Last year the rabbits, deer, groundhog or who knows what loves the blooms and they eat them off every Fall.

One year I did not have one bloom after one night. I always tell my daughter that there was a wedding reception in the gardens last night. Then she knows why I am in a bad mood.

What I found strange is the plant developers these days make up a new name for everything if the plant is even a little shorter they seem to want to make up a new name. To call them all Xenox and not mark the plant with a different name is unusual.

When I bought mine(I have all of them) they were marked Orange Xenox , Yellow Xenox and so forth. I agree that they are hard to tell apart and just have minimal differences.

With the Xenox series it is easy to tell them apart when they bloom, and even the foliage differs. They are all introductions of Future Plants in the Netherlands.

All have plant patents.

Julia, do you have photos of the blooms on yours different ones?

I accidentally fell on it. They also have one called Sedum telephium 'Coral Reef', not to be confused with the Sedum tetractinum 'Coral Reef'. Not that is going to cause some confusion.

I saw that Coral reef and was going to comment on that because it was one I purchased for my design in my driveway area. I had it at my old house and forgot to take cuttings when I moved. I clicked on the pic and thought "Well that is going to be a source of confusion if they release it into the US market" Rolling on the floor laughing

We will have a coral reef upright and coral reef groundcover.

Hmmm, wonder how they would look growing together? That might be quite pretty.

From the description I am trying to figure out how they thought WOW this plant should be coral reef. Coral Reef pinks, blues, soft water colors......this is the description.

"Attractive white- colored flowers with greyed purple-colored centers"

American description of coral reef
"Fleshy rose coral foliage, ‘Coral Reef' also had hints of yellow and green."
