My Sago palm is putting out fronds from the soil. Upon close look, I see what looks like the bulbous shape of a new palm that the frond is growing out of that is growing off the side of my palm at soul level. I took a sharp knife and removed it and potted it out. It looks like a new small Sago. Do these larger plants make small ones? Mine has never done this before. This is a pix of what I think is a baby that I potted up.

Yest they do put out offsets. I have two sagos the I got from offsets years ago.

I would also suggest you raise that caudex of your little one a bit higher, it might rot the caudex if it is too deep in the soil.

You might let them grow a little before you remove them. The bigger they are the better chance of success.
