Collecting seed pods from Raspberry Wine this evening and found this in one of the pods. Is this the start of a seedling? I think I will plant it to see if it grows. Unfortunately I do not know the pollen parent, but Raspberry Wine was a nice bud builder this year and bloomed for four weeks.

Yes, it's a seed that has already started sprouting. I get them once in awhile.

If you have damp conditions from rain, you can get seeds sprouting right in the pods. I've had that pleasant surprise happen to me, too! I'd definitely plant it!

Thanks, Becky. We've had a little rain lately, but mostly just cooler weather. It seems that it is taking forever for the seed pods to dry up.
