I want to try writing an article. I was just practicing & can't seem to figure out how to place the photos where I want them to be. For instance, I wanted a photo on the right with text on the left of it, so I placed the photo on the right, went back & began text to the left. The next thing I knew, the photo had moved to the lower left. How can I make text wrap around a photo? How can I place a photo middle or far right & make it stay there?

I'm watching this thread.

I went to Ideas & Articles & then clicked on the red "submit one here" & I never saw a choice of simple or advanced. Obviously, I missed something or went to the wrong place. I wondered if I was in the wrong place but it's been quite a while since I did anything other than a short tip.

There used to be two forms but now I only see one, the simple form.

Though this site never gives me trouble, I do have all kinds of trouble with weird formatting on a lot of web pages. I have the writing set to a HUGE size so I can see it well, more comfortably. IDK if this is relevant to this discussion or not, since this site seems to do so well adjusting to my strange settings automatically, but when I (extremely occasionally) make a blog page on a blog site, I check it with smaller writing and am sometimes surprised, sometimes to the good, sometimes bad.

Ok, I remember now that there is no more advanced HTML for the ideas. It acts just like a post in a thread and is easy peasy.

But to make the images wrap left or right isn't as easy as dragging and dropping anymore. If you want to submit the idea the way it is, I can edit them to change the text to wrap around the images.

Or, I can write a tutorial on how to use bb code to do the same thing.

Thanks Dave, I have not yet written it but was playing around with the way I want it to look. Not that this would be the top of your to-do list, but one day it might not be a bad idea to write a tutorial for using the bb code to accomplish such.

I would love to have a tutorial. And does the bb coding allow for colors of background?

No, you can't change the background color with bb codes.

I have a lot to learn on how to make an article look professional. Hope I figure it out.

You can write it with Text Edit or some other computer convenience that lets you arrange things to suit yourself and just copy it.

That won't work. The formatting will not survive the copy.

Did something change? I'm pretty sure I've done that.

Something may have changed since you last did this. Some time ago (a year or more, likely) I did away from the old WYSIWYG editor and replaced it with a simple text box just like the forums. The latter doesn't support HTML or special formatting.
