Yeah I guess our fireplace would work too. I just want the Florida Keys...................never been there and would love love to get initiated to it.

I'm not looking forward to ice, snow more that a few inches deep, etc. but I can't say I want to escape to anyplace else even for a while. I'm such a home body.

Kyle made sure the bulbs in the bird house lights were cleaned and good, the extension cord replaced, and the new time set for the hens to have 16 hr. of light so they will start laying. I only have about 6 or 8 hens of laying age but even 4 banty eggs a day would be so nice again. If the only large chicken/hen I have doesn't stop picking on the banty hens I'll get rid of her. She's too old to eat so I'll just give her away. I'll keep her pullet tho as she is 1/2 banty. I told Kyle that if my 4 D'uccle hens start laying and then stop when it gets really cold I'll bring them into the utility room for the winter. It will make gathering eggs so easy!! That will leave only 4 or 5 banty hens out in the bird house for the winter. By mid spring all of them should start laying either for the first time or again.

I had a great family day and they did all the cooking, cleaning up, etc. All I had to do was show up and eat too much.

Tomorrow is suppose to be cooler than today but not really cold. Very windy tho. At least that is what I think I remember the weatherman saying. If it's nice I think I'll try to work in the yarden instead of the house. The fresh air, sunshine, and exercise will all be good for me.

How about the weather

Oh my, that one has me headed for fresh coffee! It is raining and chilly (for us) today, but it is not cold enough for snow. I remember how much time it used to take to get ready to go outside. Especially when I was a kid and had a snow suit like Ralphie's.

It was fun watching the neighbor kids yesterday. This is our first substantial snow this year and they were out with shovels trying to round up enough snow dust to make snowballs...then it started to REALLY snow. Lots of them had wet heads and red cheeks.

We have not had any so far. Cold and rainy but as long as it stays in its liquid form I'm okay with that. I really don't relish shoveling and slipping and sliding everywhere. Gray out now, windy a tad and cold 34º . Flurries they are forecasting for Thursday. Nothing measurable they claim We'll see.

Yes, and it was red, too! Snow boots! Mittens! Ear muffs! Thank heaven for Texas!!!

Think the weather psychics heard you. Supposed to be at least a wintry mix by tomorrow afternoon and down to 27 overnight into Tuesday. That is Arctic cold for us. Be good for the flowers that need some chilling, right?
