I sometimes wonder how all of you keep your comments straight, without posting an answer to the wrong site!

If you keep both site windows open then clicking back and forth between sites makes sense.

I know... It's too confusing to have two sites to keep up with when it's the same people MOL... So I'm mostly here...

In any case, here's Spring Bliss going to town right now.

Beautiful Sherry! I see it's cloudy in Santa Cruz too. We got a few sprinkles! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Fire On Ice bloomed today. Unfortunately it's right next to a plant that is host to a snail colony that I have not had time to deal with...so it's a little chewed up.

We have lots of slugs, but not too many snails. Do you salt snails like you do slugs?

I have not found a good solution for the snails...yet. I've tried Sluggo, which helps some, but get's expensive. I've heard about various baits and traps...most commonly the beer in a saucer trick...but I'm not fond of the ideas of constantly having drowned snails to clean up and traps to refill. So far the most success I've had is the gross but effective method of hand-picking the snails then disposing of them in a plastic bag in the trash. It's time-consuming & messy but it makes a big difference.

Birds sound like a good solution...except that my dog would kill them.

Nice pics! Duke Gardens had Immortality in full bloom when I was there for their sale on Saturday. Nothing reblooming at my house just a few blocks away. I guess I need to find out what they are doing so get such big reblooms!

The only thing I have blooming now are some Daylilies that I planted this year, and some of them won't make it before the freeze I'm afraid.

There's still the odd daylily opening here, too, Tom. I think the actual "rebloom" started earlier than usual this year (for the lilies AND the iris !). The weatherman says we have some rain coming on Thursday (maybe!), and then a "cool down", so I expect the frost is not far away !

Is it common for your daylilies to rebloom? Mine bloom in May, then die all the way down in the heat of summer, then the leaves regrow, but no further blooms. I am guessing that there isn't enough time after the leaves come back (late August) to bloom again before first frost.

These aren't re-bloomers, they are irises I ordered and planted this year. They just decided to bloom, I think there are a doz. or so that are doing this. Some are already finished, and others are just starting to put up scapes.

I hand pick and dance on snails and slugs. As for the re-bloomers, great photos! I only have a NoID that is blooming and it's on its last flower...so I'll be bloomless again.

Our weather report for this week, mid to upper 80's, then mid to upper 90's with some places hitting the 100's. Maybe I'll see some blooms in November? Shrug!

This is not a great photo as it is more purple and has more lines down the falls. This one was given to me in late August last year. I did not have room for it anywhere....soooo, I planted it behind the house, north side, where it receives no sun, ever. It will grow without sun and I planned on moving it later on. It has increased and now both clumps are putting up bloom stalks......... in total shade. The ones that were more colorful I planted near the front, and in full sun.... and they are just sitting there.

Beautiful Bonnie!! I have one I planted last year and planted in full sun and it hasn't bloomed yet! Maybe I should find it a shady spot!!

It is doing beautifully in the shade Bonnie! Most of mine that have a chance of reblooming are dwarfs. I think I need to go out and sweet talk them a bit to get them motivated. Big Grin
