I'm just wondering if there are any folks wanting to share they're expertise concerning trimming avocado trees. Last year I trimmed mine severely, all my neighbors told me I had killed the tree. This year I had the largest crop of avocados of anyone in the neighborhood. Since I don't like avocados I wasn't too concerned about killing the tree. I think I recall muttering die tree die, as I sawed off branches. My question is, do you trim yours to 10 foot or under, also, when do you trim yours. I usually wait till I can unload the last of the fruit on my neighbors.

Me too!

I don't have any experience to share about avocado trees, considering where I live, but it sounds to me like your neighbors should be asking YOU for advice on trimming, Jim ! Smiling

maybe I'll threaten my mango tree as I trim it. I only got about ten mangos from it and those I love. It would seem I have the best luck with anything I plant but honestly don't care for.
