What I think we need to do is to have the group of us sign a petition to the sedum society to put us under their umbrella. Maybe we could do that at the clinic. Until then let's keep thinking about a plan B too. In this electronic age we could do our own thing too.

Manuel Werner is a European gentleman, not too old as I figure from the pictures of his children. His English was a little fractured but not all that bad and of course Google translates. He is obviously computer/web site literate -- here, I found the reference I copied:

Sempervivum-Cultivation - a modern hobby with a long past from Manuel Werner, NĂ¼rtingen, Germany http://manus.heimat.eu/semp-cu...

If someone like that was asked to be an officer early on, we might get more Europeans aboard. MR

P.S. Kevin, you've been in the "business" probably longer than anyone else here. Do you know any Europeans that can be included in this conversation and started on the "ground floor" as it were? Whether or not they are officer material, it would widen the network. It seems to me it would be good to find someone able to set up an independent web site -- or perhaps at least a semi-independent forum under ATP?

I'm too new to all of this forum business to be making these suggestions -- ATP is the only one I've ever been tempted by. And Lynn, you really are responsible for that, so please God you'll hang in there as a cheer leader! MR

I'll have to read your link later MR. I just got home from a day of helping test and qualify dogs for their CGC certificate. Now I am hungry and tired. Smiling

Good to see you back home my friend. Group hug

Lynn, Just read your biography of Peter Diekmann. He was far too young to have passed away -- and from what you have shared, was already heading up an unofficial Sempervivum Society.

Are you part of the "team" continuing to compile his Sempervivum "Liste?" Is this the place to continue building in order to have a "full-service" Society?

Lots of questions! And a sadness that I have just found semps and have missed so much! Crying MR

I agree

No, I am not part of his team in Germany. But I do hope we can continue working with them to further Peter's dream.

Hurray! As a friend of mine would say, that is a cause worthy of a blessing! Thumbs up MR
