It seems like it might be perfect for a shady section in the back yard I'm planning.

No worries it not hardy in our area. You can take cuttings and keep as a house plant if you like.

I had that growing in one of my flower beds in SoCal. It sort of took over, but it was pretty easy to control.

I agree woofie's right....Even here in North Florida, I've not really had a major problem with it. Easy to control, and worth it in my opinion! A beautiful shade of purple with a really cute pink flower. Smiling
