SO lovely! Keep them coming! Bubbles, is that a hypertufa pot in your Hell Strip? I am getting a Cherry Barbados in a trade. So nice! So what are the conditions on the strip? I thought CB was supposed to be in part shade?

Not hypetufa...large Mexican pots that I bought about 12 yrs ago in Reynosa. They're starting to deteriorate around the rims from the freezes. I usually have color spots in them, but the drought and heat this summer took it's toll.

The strip is hot and dry most of the time. The trailing lantana does really well and there are some large aloes in there also. The bed by the driveway, where the CB is gets a little hand watering. It's in full sun most of the day. I've have to drastically trim the CB back because it hits the car on the driveway. I didn't think it would get so big. Easy to propagate so I guess I should start one in a better spot.

Salvia mexicana....or Lolly Jackson just starting to bloom. I cut this one to the ground in July so I didn't have to water so much. It came back shorter, but bushier. Should be gorgeous when all the purple blooms peek out of the bright lime.

Alliums of some kind...planted at least 3 yrs ago. First time to bloom. Right by sidewalk to front door. Blooms have lasted a long time. I ordered some large Schubertii alliums from a co-op this month. Hope they do as well...but don't take 3 yrs to bloom!

Salvia mexicana! That looks like limelight salvia. What a gorgeous plant! Thanks for the info on CB. Maybe I will root a piece too in case there is a cold snap and I forget to protect it.

I'm smiling because the tag from Schumacher's in New Braunfels years ago said Lolly Jackson. I found one in Austin tagged Limelight and tagged mine as such. Then someone on Dave's "corrected" me and said it was actually Salvia mexicana! I'm so confused! Just kidding!

Yep, that's the one! I believe I'll just call it Savia Sam from now on!

Do you have it? I could try to root some cuttings if you don't...

That sounds like a plan! I don't think I can root one before next weekend, but I can try to get some started tomorrow. Let me know when you'll be coming for sure and I'll arrange to meet you...or take you to our house to dig some stuff.....I'll look forward to it!
