Might be Aster 'Raydon's Favorite'?

It looks more like a Aster (Symphyotrichum novi-belgii) to me, but it's pretty tough to identify asters by the flowers and upper leaves alone.

So how would it be identified?

I just went out and crushed a few leaves and they do have the spicy smell that 'Raydon's Favorite' should have. And after searching back through old orders, I see I ordered it from Sunlight Gardens as 'Raydon's Favorite'. I'm fairly certain now that's what it is.

It varies depending on the species but, generally, the basal leaves are the best place to start when narrowing down the list of possibilities.

That looks more like Aromatic Aster (Symphyotrichum oblongifolium). If i remember right, Raydon's Favorite is a cultivar of S. oblongifolium.

Yes, it is a cultivar. Sunlight Gardens sells both.
