It is the white/purple Salvia leucantha! I've grown it and love it! It's an annual for me as it most likely is for you.

It will likely be border-line hardy where you are, Arlene. If we have a mild-ish winter it will likely return for you. If we have a winter like last year, then it won't.

Wow! That was fast! Yes, I think the lady at the checkout told me it was an annual, but, I have had some other annual salvias over winter for me so, fingers are crossed!

Mine came back even after that bad winter. I had not given the plant any protection from the cold.
It is a very forgiving plant.
