It was really chilly when we arrived yesterday, and we almost parked on top of the street, it looked so icy. But, Klaus managed to get into the driveway without problem. And today temps were around the 40 F mark, not too bad at all wearing some warm sweaters, and our road was easily passable. Surely you saw the no Winter maintenance sign!

Yup, there was a fabulous cool breeze this morning when I began pruning my bougainvillea. Now that I have the driveway full of the most wicked prickly branches, it's too hot and I need to wait until the shade moves over to get them cut up for pickup tomorrow.

Here's what's in my driveway and on the lawn beside it right now . . evil thorns that stick right through your shoes! Good thing the flowers are so pretty.

Been there and done that, Elaine. I can remember the blood running down my arms and dripping from my fingers. That's why I bought the thornless one from Logee's.

Wow. It was 47 degrees here today! Glad you liked my snow pics Jim. Since we didn't succeed in selling the place this summer, there are more opportunities for you to visit...but I don't recommend wintertime!

Yep, about this time of year we Floridians like to stay down here and urge our friends to come see us! That white, frozen stuff just is not my idea of fun any more.

The bougie swarms all over the gate to the front door about this time each year, and I have to take pity on the mailman and UPS guy. This year I broke out the "Big Gun", my pole saw, and really hacked it back. We were not able to get it all bundled up and into trash cans for pickup before it got dark, but almost! Phew, I am exhausted, but happy to have that over with.
