This 1" ,bug is potato bug shaped. And lives in the soil. Comes up when I water. Seems to smooth out the soil, and mix it up. Anyone know what it is, and is it harmful?

Does look like that, hopefully, my lizards will eat them all before spring. I made a lizard housing spot, in order to encourage them to stay in my garden this winter.
Mole crickets are a PITA. I hope your lizards will have fun munching on them & get very, very fat!
